Character history
Phoebe is a new student at McKinley High. She moved from London, England with her mum, dad and little sister, Danielle. Phoebe moved away because of the bullying she received after she was involved in an accident last year. She was crossing the road, trying to rush to pick her sister up from school when their mum had to stay late at work but she didn't look properly and was hit by an oncoming car. The driver didn't stop or even slow down, they just left. Phoebe, however, didn't have that option. Since the accident, Phoebe has been in a wheelchair controlled by her the movement of her head as it is the only part of her body she can move. Doctors and her family hope she'll be able to walk properly again one day.

Phoebe got to her feet and started walking the few meters to her new school. She passed people she'd never met before in her life and they were smiling and greeting her warmly. She was early to school so she walked the long way to her first class, past the track field, stretching her muscles by running along one of the lanes, happy again.

Phoebe sighed and tilted her head once more as she turned onto the McKinley High school grounds. She stopped for a second and took a deep breath, letting it out in a loud sigh. Her biggest fear was that she would get the same abuse here that she did in her last school. Come on, Phoebe, you can do this. Nobody here knows you used to be on the track team. Nobody expects anything of you. You can do this. She chanted to herself in her head. Once again, she started moving, drawing nearer and nearer to the daunting school in the wheelchair she so badly hated. Even though it gave her independence, which she was incredibly glad for. After all, she could have died right?
